ON APRIL 8, TWO EXHIBITIONS BEGAN THEIR WORK IN THE OIL CAPITAL OF KAZAKHSTAN, ATYRAU: THE 23RD NORTH CASPIAN REGIONAL EXHIBITION ATYRAU OIL&GAS AND THE NORTH CASPIAN REGIONAL CONSTRUCTION AND INTERIOR EXHIBITION ATYRAU BUILD.

The start of the exhibitions was marked by an introductory tour of the exposition with the participation of representatives of government agencies and oil and gas companies.

Akim of Atyrau region Serik Shapkenov has repeatedly stressed in his speeches: "The annual exhibition is an important event not only for the oil and gas industry of our country, but also for the entire Caspian region. It is a unique platform for the exchange of experience, the presentation of new technologies, the establishment of business relationships and the discussion of investment projects. Today, the industry faces new challenges — technological modernization, digitalization and ensuring environmental sustainability. Undoubtedly, such platforms allow us to jointly find solutions to achieve these goals."

According to Daniyar Orynbasarov, Head of the Atyrau Region Department of Entrepreneurship and Industry, Atyrau Oil&Gas exhibition is an important international platform that promotes the development of the oil and gas industry and strengthens business ties. It opens up new opportunities for attracting investments, introducing modern technologies and localizing production in Atyrau region. "It is encouraging that about 40% of the exhibition participants are taking part for the first time. This indicates that more and more new companies, including international ones, are showing interest in our region and are striving to develop and build businesses in Atyrau region and in Kazakhstan as a whole. Such events are of strategic importance for our region, as the country's oil capital. They stimulate the development of entrepreneurship, create new jobs and make a significant contribution to the economic growth of the region," said D. Orynbasarov.

Exhibitions traditionally bring together leading representatives of the oil and gas, petrochemical, and construction industries to showcase modern technologies, share experiences, and develop business relationships. The exposition of the exhibitions demonstrates a high level of international participation. This year, 85 companies from 9 countries are presenting their solutions: Austria, Azerbaijan, Germany, India, Kazakhstan, China, Poland, Russia and the USA. About 40% of the exhibitors are participating for the first time, reflecting the growing interest of international business in the Caspian region.

Emphasizing the importance of an open and transparent dialogue with local suppliers, Stephen Conner, General Manager of Production at Tengizchevroil, noted that over the years Tengizchevroil has created hundreds of thousands of jobs and actively procures goods and services produced in Kazakhstan, stimulating economic activity not only in Atyrau region, but throughout the country. In 2025 alone, TCO purchased goods and services from Kazakhstani suppliers worth about $1.8 billion. These funds were used for products and services produced in Kazakhstan that comply with international quality standards. This approach contributes to the localization of technologies, the development of production capacities and the continuous professional development of personnel. Since the company was founded in 1993, the total volume of TCO purchases from domestic suppliers has reached 52.3 billion US dollars. In 2025, the company also achieved a high level of Kazakhstani content — 71%, which was made possible by an increase in the volume of purchases of goods from domestic manufacturers. The exhibition serves as an ideal platform to tell about it.

An additional element of the exhibition was the outdoor area, where 9 companies demonstrate large-sized equipment, specialized machinery and innovative technological solutions for the industry.

Expo events are an important professional platform where representatives of government agencies, leading companies and industry experts discuss topical issues of the oil and gas and construction sector development, find new partnerships and present modern technological solutions.

The eventful business program began with the plenary session "The Caspian region as an industrial hub: integration of oil and gas projects, infrastructure and petrochemicals", where experts discussed the strategic directions of industry development and the role of the region in the formation of an industrial cluster.

In his speech, Temirlan Urkumbayev, Director of the Department of Petrochemistry and Technical Regulation of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted: "Today, petrochemistry is not just an industry, but a strategically important area of economic development, especially for countries with significant reserves of hydrocarbon resources, such as Kazakhstan. According to the results of 2023-2025, the industry has a steady positive production trend: from 358 thousand tons in 2023 to 619 thousand tons in 2025, which corresponds to an increase of 173%. The achieved indicators demonstrate a steady increase in volumes and the phased development of design capacities. Atyrau Oil&Gas Exhibition is a significant event dedicated to the development of the oil and gas industry and industrial infrastructure."

Next, a panel session "Digital Transformation of the oil and gas industry: strategy, technology and economic impact" was held, dedicated to the introduction of digital technologies, improving the efficiency of production processes and sustainable development of the industry.

Atyrau Oil&Gas 2026 and Atyrau Build 2026 exhibitions are an important platform for forming new partnerships, sharing knowledge and demonstrating innovative solutions aimed at developing the oil and gas and construction complex of Kazakhstan and the entire Caspian region.

Tomorrow, April 9, dozens of speakers will continue to discuss the future of the oil and gas industry. A strategic session "The role of special economic and industrial zones in the development of the petrochemical cluster and related sectors" will be held. The participants will discuss the possibilities of developing industrial cooperation, the investment attractiveness of the region and the role of special economic zones in the formation of new production chains.

The practical orientation of the program will be complemented by a specialized seminar on gas chromatography from Agilent Technologies.

The final day of the Atyrau Oil&Gas 2026 and Atyrau Build 2026 exhibitions, April 10, will be devoted to industrial excursions to enterprises of the National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark Special Economic Zone.

The participants of the events will visit a number of industrial facilities, including enterprises: KPI Inc. LLP and Karabatan Utility Solutions LLP.

Guests will be able to get acquainted with the production processes, technological infrastructure and industrial development opportunities of the region.

Thus, Atyrau Oil&Gas 2026 and Atyrau Build 2026 confirm their role as an effective professional platform bringing together industry experts, international business and government agencies to develop solutions aimed at the sustainable development of the oil and gas and construction industries.
