Baku Shipyard LLC
Baku Shipyard LLC (BSY) was established for the purpose of providing shipbuilding and ship repair services for the marine and offshore industry within the Caspian Region. The foundation of the Baku Shipyard was laid by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, on March 19, 2010, and its opening ceremony took place on September 20, 2013.
The annual production capacity of the Shipyard is 25,000 tons of steel, which is equal to the construction of 4 tankers with a carrying capacity of 15,000 tons and 4 vessels for any other purpose per year. Additionally, BSY also has the capacity to repair 80-100 vessels for various purposes during the year.
In the production process, modern technological means such as metal cutting, profiling, plate cutting, digital equipment for cutting 3D pipes, are used. BSY also acquired SSI ShipConstructor software for the development of a professional engineering team.
The shareholders of Baku Shipyard are the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), the Azerbaijan Investment Company (AIC) and the Singaporean company Keppel Offshore & Marine with shares in the authorized capital of 87.47%, 8.95% and 3.58% accordingly.
