NPF VNIIGIS-ZTK LLC is one of the leading research and production Russian company engaged in the development and producing MWD/LWD systems for oil and gas wells. Among the unique developments is the overhead module that allows geosteering data to be obtained while drilling near the bit.

Above-bit module

Above-bit module is a unique development of LLC SPF “VNIIGIS-ZTK”, which does not have analogues in Russia. Information from the module is transmitted to the main telemetry system, then the complete data package – to the surface.
Data transmission from above-bit module to the lower electric insulator is performed by electromagnetic waves.
